Back with a review

Hello cyber world,

I have been a busy little bee lately, I started a new job and it's been great but tiring at the same time! But without fear I am back and plan to continue with this blog, it isn't one of my resolutions (as they usually never last for me), it is just something I want to start doing again because it's fun :)

So I got some lovely Christmas goodies from Lush this year, and the divine smells prompted me to write a review on one of my favourite products from Lush. But do not roll your eyes just yet because it isn't one of the Christmas items because lets face it it's a bit late now what with all or most of it being sold out in the January Sale.

Anyway, onto the product. I have chosen *drum roll please*
Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar
It looks like this (you'll have to excuse mine it is well loved and consequently starting to lose it's dippy strawberry bits... wow that was an impressive description haha)
See what I meant about the dippy bits?
Anyway, the first thing I have to mention about this product is the amazing scent that sends me into some sort of dreamy land, it is simply delicious! The Lush website doesn't really have a description of the scent, but if you are a fan of the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel, it is exactly the same smell so the two are perfectly matched. However, if you don't know about that shower gel then what I said probably meant very little to you
*doh, get on with it Meg*
Ok so the main scent is *shockingly* strawberries, but because it is mixed with other sweet floral scents, almond oil and what smells like a hint of icing sugar, they all mix together to form a really pretty girly smell.

I use this massage bar as my moisturiser, especially in the winter when I feel like my skin needs it or problem elbow areas, it is really easy to use too (I'm not trying to tell you how to suck eggs here but just in case someone doesn't know how to use these) all you need to do is warm the bar up by rubbing it in between your hands and after a few seconds you will have a thin layer of oil on your hands, and then just massage into your skin and enjoy. I did attempt to take pictures to demonstrate this process but it just looked like I was taking random arm fetish pictures... odd! But none the less it leaves you smelling yummy and it lingers for ages which is why I love it most.

So that is that :) thumbs up for the Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar. Next time you walk past a Lush, which unfortunately for me never happens, my store is 40 mins away *sad face*, definitely check this nifty product out :)

A New Moon is rising...

Ok so let me just start by saying I did get addicted to the Twilight book and yes I have read all four, I will hold my hands up and surrender. I love each one dearly, I love Stephenie Meyer she is a fab author.

Hence the title of this blog I am talking mostly about New Moon. I am seriously excited about the movie coming to cinemas in November. When I read the books I had such a hard time deciding if I am Team Edward or Team Jacob and I have to say I want Edward and Bella to be together in the books but I secretly root for Jacob, I love his character and not mention the hotness that is Taylor Lautner. eek! And he is 17 yikes that makes me feel old!

And Oh what's this? I wonder how that got there!

Mmmmm

Anyway, moving on and wiping away the drool. My point is that I am 98% sure that I am Team Jacob, purely for the first three books though THEN I am Team Edward because although I should pick one I am a sucker for tall dark and handsome.

*Daydreams a little*

Are any of you excited for the New Moon movie? Have you read the books and decided if Edward or Jacob is your fave.? If not shame on you! :)

Calling all angels...

Hello blog world :)

Ok so following the trend of my Lush product reviews I thought I would review another face scrub called 'Angels on bare skin'

I think this product is made for combination skin, not to be confused with problem skin, the reason I say combination is because my Mum has oily/combo skin and she absolutely swears by it. Also my best friend has dry skin and she also loves it. So it is probably a good product to start with if you think you might be in the combination category :)

Angels on bare skin is such a gentle milk-like scrub that kind of feels 'oaty' you know like porridge/oatmeal? That sounds wierd but don't let my bad descriptions put you off because it is an amazing cleanser.

The product itself is almost like a big ball of dough like cookie dough but it is crumbly at the same time (wow good job at explaining haha) and all you do is take a small amount and rub it in your hands to create a milky/oaty paste. When I first used this I got freaked out a little beacuse when I rubbed my hands together it felt like all the grains that were meant to scrub your face were gone but don't be fooled because it becomes a gentle milk formula and you can definitely feel it working.

There are little bit of herbs or grains in the mixture which can get stuck in your lips when scrubbing and they don't taste too good (trust me I know) and the essential oils in it smell really good and feel great on the skin. So as long as you keep your mouth shut (not to say that I let my mouth hang wide open haha) and make sure you thoroughly rinse your face you are good to go. I like to use this product on the days that I don't use my Dark Angels as it is a little more gentle and a lot of the time my skin cannot decide if it is oily or combination! And this is great for that

Here is a picture of the product to get an idea of the formula...

I don't know if the picture is very good but you get the idea :)
Product round up:
The good
-It will work for combination skin so it's great if you aren't sure which skin type you are or if you literally have oily t-zone and dry cheek area
-Again the price is really reasonable
-The smell I really love because I love essential oils and almonds and all that good stuff
-The name is adorable
The bad
-If you have really problem skin this probably won't work as well as other scrubs
-The little herbs or grains that are mixed in aren't as tasty as you would think but as long as you keep your mouth tightly shut whilst cleansing it's all good
I hope this was somewhat interesting for you guys and I hope you all have a lovely Sunday. Oh and p.s. I saw Dorian Gray last night and although it is creepy I loved it (and Ben Barnes is delicious!) I'd recommend it :)

Look of the day

So I was getting dressed and slapping my face on this morning and thought I would start a favourite makeup look and outfit of the day posts on here, So here goes the makeup post....
Ok there is a small story behind this- I was driving to pick my sister up yesterday when I noticed that the trees were turning orange and brown, which is beautiful but it also meant that GASP! summer is officially over *sad face!* Where I live it isn't ever particularily hot, not even the summer, so to officially say that Autumn is at my doorstep is pretty sad because it is going to get colder - However silver lining on this cloud is that I can break out my trusty boots and soft scarves and wear lovely autumn things :)

Anyway, going a little off topic here (you all should know I ramble haha), The point of me telling you that was the colours on the trees inspired this look and here is the pictures...

It is a very natural pretty look (please ignore my tired eyes it was very early, in fact I was still in my PJs haha) These are the products I used:
- Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser
- Random bronzer (? how helpful haha)
- UDPP with Painterly Paint pot from Mac
- Grand Entrance e/s from Mac all over the lid (this was LE but you can prob. still get it)
- Texture e/s from Mac (this is an absolutely goregous colour a must have for me :))
- A brown eyeliner and brown mascara
and Ta-dah! that's my makeup look of the week I have literally been wearing this for the past few days and I love it :)
I hope this was somewhat interesting for my 3 very cherished followers :)

First blog, first review, first jitters!

Hello blog world :)

This is my very first blog and I am indeed going to kick it off with a review of one of my favourite products from Lush

My absolute desert island product from Lush is not an easy pick as I am very pro Lush - I can't help it when I go in the store or even walk past my purse is barking at the door, it smells amazing in there - Anwyay, as I was saying...

I have lots of favourites however my very very top favourite is, baring in mind bath bombs are exempt from desert island scenario, one of their face scrubs called Dark Angels. Here is a sneaky pic..

It is a charcoal/mud based so it really doesn't smell half as good as the bath bombs, however if (like me) you have oily skin or your pores get clogged because you live in the city, blah blah blah, then this scrub will do wonders for you. I use it every other day and that works for my skin, if you want to try this product for the first time I would recommend only using it once or twice per week until your skin needs it more.

The product itself is really easy to use, it is almost like a sand texture, or charcoal I guess hence the ingredients (duh Meg!), but when it's mixed with water it becomes a paste and all you do is massage over your face and it thoroughly scrubs out the grime from your pores and believe me I have tried a lot of products that claim to cleanse problem pores but this is only product I've found that works and makes my life so much easier. It feels like my skin has been rejuvinated and I like that - it makes me feel good :)

Product round up:

The good
-It's great for oily skin or problem pores
-Its relatively cheap for the amount you would use and how often you use it could last at least a year (and it doesn't go off for a year yay!)
-It comes in a good size tub, ideal for traveling etc.

The bad
-It does smell like charcoal so if you can't get past this smell it isn't the end of the world (although it doesn't bother me anymore)

I hope this was helpful for someone out there and not just for my benefit haha. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and I'll blog to you soon

xoxo
